The Office of Communications & Information Technology (OCIT) is the central information technology and telecommunications provider for the County of Sacramento. OCIT delivers a broad range of Countywide shared IT services to employees, departments and regional partners as well as develops customized solutions for specific departmental business applications.

Under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), OCIT administers the largest Wide Area Network in Northern California and operates the fifth largest telephone company in the state. OCIT provides services for the County's Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS), including 30 State and 15 Federal agencies.

Other OCIT supported services include COMPASS (human resources and financial systems), the County Communications center and the Help Desk, a 24-hour/365 days a year data center, building security systems, the public safety Sacramento Regional Radio Communications System and the County's Web Portals and, e-government program.
